New NFT Collection 'Shiny Objects'

Shiny Object #1. Digital Art by Beau Tardy. ©2018-2021
I am close to launching my new NFT collection called 'Shiny Objects'. It features brilliant and unique digital art specifically designed for large format or mobile screen display. This series was created as part of an effort to create new art everyday for a period of six months. What I discovered was that in working this way, I could build momentum and every new piece is informed by the work created before it. The progression is not linear but the discoveries are sometimes surprising. It is a form of channeled creative freedom, which is very different from the way I typically work. This methodology is very productive and comes from years of doing digital work for TV networks and broadcasters, where there are demands on a daily basis. Doing art on a daily basis focuses the effort and is a great way to put together a collection of new work.

Only the best pieces will be made available. You will not be able to access this art any other way as all other online copies of the art contain watermarks and are purposely down-rezed (low resolution quality). This is the only way to obtain full resolution, non-watermarked, authentically sourced art directly from the creator to display as it was meant to be displayed. The first collection will contain 20 unique digital pieces and will be available to purchase as NFTs once I have decided which NFT platform to publish them will work best. I will inform you of the minting here on this website. Up until now I have been using Mintable.com but they have not been very helpful and so I am thinking of changing platform. Also my social media feeds will progressively shut down as I vehemently oppose censorship and their using my art for their profit without sharing any profits with the creators. I will keep you informed on this website. Thank you for checking in.

First minted digital art NFT - Beau Tardy Artist Poster.

I have finally minted my first digital art NFT. This token is available for a short while as an auction on Mintable.app

Beau Tardy Artist Poster
The first minted digital art NFT by Beau Tardy ©2021

I will be minting all of my digital art including brand new art and vintage digital art from my MTV days and before. I have been making digital art since taking the very first computer graphics class at Parsons School of Design, which then led to my career making TV art for the likes of MTV and VH1. This is a great way for me to share digital art with you without the risk of it being stolen and copied. The new NFT technology is going to change the world of digital art for the benefit of artists who like me have been hesitant to post digital art on social media because it is so easy to copy. Thanks for buying my art and feel free to ask me any questions about this new technology.

Acrylic & Gold Metal on Wood Panel 10"x10" by Beau Tardy Artist, 2019.
After going through a little bit of a burn out, I produced these nice miniature wood panels. I have always been fascinated by Medieval art. Nice 10"x10" panels, carefully prepared and painted with acrylic and gold metallic paint. Varnished and mounted, ready to hang.

Painting Auctioned for Ronald McDonald House

Papa Smurf Dope McDonalds - ©2018 Beau Tardy Artist
Mixed media & acrylic paint on board.

At Comicpalooza this year, artists were picked to auction off their work to raise funds for the Ronald McDonald House Charities which provide shelter, support and resources to families who travel far from home for the medical care their child needs. The art was made live on site during a two hour period and then auctioned off. Here is my entry that was snapped up by a lucky collector.

My Wimpy Painting for a Houston Heights Restaurant was Stolen!

What a crazy story! In February I painted this piece for Balls Out Burgers a restaurant in Houston Heights and it was stolen from the restaurant along with the cash register!
Wimpy by Beau Tardy ©2018
The painting was mixed media acrylic, spray paint with stencils on paper 24"x30". After framing it and delivering it I heard nothing back from Balls Out Burgers. When I had delivered the painting I got a weird vibe from the guy who I handed it to. I was told he was the manager but he just kinda took the painting without even saying thanks! Anyway, after a month with no news I emailed them to see if they even liked the painting. The response was that the painting had been stolen! Apparently someone made off with a bunch of money and the painting. How crazy is that? The nice people from customer service said they did not know that nobody had contacted me to say thanks. They offered me free burgers too, which I will gladly accept.

ATOMIKCOMIX new book!

The new book 'AtomikComix' by Beau Tardy. Coming out Feb. 2016

AtomikComix presents never before seen early work by Beau Tardy. With roots in the East Village mid-80s post punk sub-culture this book spans the evolution from underground comix to computer graphix for TV.

After dropping out of art school in 1985 Beau focused on digital art and broadcast design ultimately ending up in the famed MTV animation department where he did graphix for MTV News with Kurt Loder, Yo! MTV Raps and The Real World.

Beau will be signing copies of his new book at Barrister's Gallery in New Orleans on Feb. 13, 2016.
